Don Sweet Law PLLC Effective Date: September 7, 2026
Don Sweet Law PLLC and Donald J Sweet A Professional Corporation and Don Sweet, Esq. ("the Firm," "we," "us," or "our") operates this website and the associated secure client/staff login portal at donsweetlaw.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information from (a) general visitors to our public website, and (b) clients and staff who use our invitation-only secure login portal.
1. Client Portal Sign-In
This site's client login uses Google Sign-In to verify your identity. We collect only your email address to confirm you're authorized to view your matter information. We do not sell or share this information with third parties. It is used solely for access control within the Firm's internal case management systems.
2. General Website Visitors
Apart from the secure portal, this website may collect limited technical information from general visitors — such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited — through standard web server logs and any analytics tools the Firm may use from time to time. This information is used only in aggregate, to maintain and improve the site, and is not used to individually identify or track visitors for advertising or retargeting purposes.
3. No Attorney-Client Relationship Created by Website Use
Visiting this website, browsing its content, or submitting a general inquiry through a public contact form or email link does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Don Sweet Law PLLC or any of its attorneys. An attorney-client relationship is formed only after (a) the Firm has cleared conflicts of interest, and (b) both you and the Firm have executed a written engagement agreement.
4. Confidentiality Warning for Unsolicited Communications
Please do not send confidential, privileged, or sensitive information to the Firm through any general website contact form, public email address, or other unsecured channel until an attorney-client relationship has been formally established. Information sent before an engagement agreement is signed may not be treated as confidential or privileged, and the Firm cannot guarantee that it will not later represent a party whose interests are adverse to yours in the same or a related matter.
5. Information Collected Through the Secure Portal
The only personal information collected through the secure client/staff login is the email address associated with your Google account, obtained solely to authenticate your identity through Google Sign-In. We do not collect passwords (authentication is handled entirely by Google), and we do not request or store any other Google account data.
6. How Portal Information Is Used
Information collected through the secure portal is used exclusively to:
Verify that you are authorized to view matter-specific information;
Maintain an internal record of who has accessed information related to a given matter; and
Operate the Firm's internal, invitation-only practice management and document systems.
We do not use your email address for marketing purposes, do not add you to any mailing list without your separate, affirmative consent, and do not use it for any purpose beyond access control described above.
7. Data Sharing and Third-Party Service Providers
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. The Firm relies on the following categories of third-party service providers, each of which processes limited data solely to help the Firm operate its practice management systems, and each of which is contractually or by policy restricted from using that data for its own purposes: identity/authentication providers (e.g., Google Sign-In), cloud infrastructure and AI processing providers (e.g., Google Cloud Platform), practice management software (e.g., Clio), and, where applicable, secure form and document intake providers (e.g., JotForm). These providers act as service providers/processors to the Firm, not as independent recipients of your information.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.), may afford you rights to: know what categories of personal information the Firm collects; request deletion of personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (as those terms are statutorily defined). The Firm does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any rights available to you, contact the Firm using the information in Section 13 below. Information related to actual or prospective legal representation, including information protected by the attorney-client privilege or attorney work-product doctrine, may be exempt from disclosure, correction, or deletion obligations under applicable law.
9. California "Shine the Light" Law
Under California Civil Code § 1798.83, California residents may request certain information about the Firm's disclosure of personal information to third parties for those third parties' direct marketing purposes. The Firm does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
10. California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)
This Privacy Policy is maintained in accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 22575–22579). This site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
11. Children's Privacy
This website and the secure portal are not directed to, and are not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. The Firm does not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
12. Data Security
The Firm relies on commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information transmitted through or stored in connection with the secure portal, including reliance on Google's authentication and security infrastructure for Sign-In. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and the Firm cannot and does not guarantee absolute security of any information transmitted to or through this site or portal.
13. Data Retention
Access records and email addresses associated with the secure portal are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to administer portal access and in accordance with the Firm's file- and record-retention obligations under the California Rules of Professional Conduct and the Arizona Rules of Professional Conduct.
14. Changes to This Policy
The Firm may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, and the "Effective Date" above will reflect the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the portal or website following any revision constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
